Cry for me now please

.
I just did a load of laundry. I have more laundry to do, but I just wanted to get by with the bare minimum. So I picked out all of my best, favorite work clothes, and washed them.

I just took them out of the dryer to find they all have many red splotches all over them. And then I realized what happened. I left a mother-fucking lipstick in my pocket and washed it with the laundry. And didn't realize it until I COOKED the lipstick into all of my best clothes in the dryer.

[sob]

[cry]

[freak out]

Now I'm trying to cover every spot with Stain-Stick, and them I'm going to have to wash everything again. Which means I'll be up half the night.

And I'll bet the stains don't come out.

I have nothing to wear tomorrow.

FUCK!

EDIT:

Ok, they've run through the machine again. The pants are ok. The red shirt will probably be ok. I think the cute turquoise top is probably toast, though. I'm running it all through the wash one more time.

And I do have have something to wear tomorrow.

I feel your pain. I've died things red before. It's not fun. Especially when you're doing your flatmate a favour by washing her favourite jeans in your load for her. Oops!

Or dyed, even!

Sometimes I think washing machines are the hand of the devil. Or maybe dryers are the hand of the devil. I have had far too many favourite articles of clothing turn up with mystery spots or several sizes too small. Tears have been shed.

Oh, that sucks! In a strange coincidence, I finally got around last night to dyeing a white top that had been streaked with pink (from my hair dye running in the rain). I dyed it purple, with excellent results. I highly recommend Rit dye on the stovetop. The turquose top might not go red very satisfactorily, but it might go purple.

Hey, it's better than throwing out beloved clothes, and almost like getting new ones.

Rit is great! (Ahhh, my days of tie-dying come back to me...) But be sure to wash that top separately or with very dark clothes from now on. I have never found Rit to be particularly colourfast.

Unless it has changed since I last used it 15 years ago.

Argh! Still, I'm glad most of it came out.

Allison, my friend who has recent Rit experience said the same thing.

The idea of using the Rit dye is intriguing.

And the color bleeding issue was EXACTLY what I was going to ask!

I already have enough red or close to red clothes that I have a 'red load' when I do wash. So I think if I do some type of reddish purple, then the washing will be ok.

*kisses*

Oh, I hope you can dye it and still keep it!
