- Kitty got sick in April, spent a week in hospital, wasn't doing well, we thought she might die. She was too scared and sick to eat, and lost a lot of weight.
- Kitty got out of hospital, started on thyroid meds, and required fluids under the skin twice a day for about a month. She was under 5lb, and we focused on getting some weight back on her.
- Kidneys got better, got to stop doing fluids.
- Kitty had gained a little weight, but was vomiting occasionally, and thyroid levels were a little off. Vet reduced dosage of thyroid meds.
- Three weeks later, her thyroid levels were better, but she still vomits, and she had lost 8 oz, leaving her at only 4lb 4oz. She's way too bony and frail. Vet increased dosage of thyroid meds (but less than the original dosage).
Today (four weeks after the last med adjustment) was kitty's re-check. She has not vomited since the last adjustment. And she weighs 5lb 1oz! She gained 13oz in the last 4 weeks, and I'm very, very excited about it. I think this means we're on the right track, that the dosage is at a good level from her, and she's doing well. We now just have to wait for the thyroid test results. The doctor did find that her heart seemed to have an irregular rhythm, which could just be an effect of the thyroid meds, or may be a sign of underlying heart disease. I've decided to not worry about it right now, and keep on the way we've been doing, and see how she does.
Also, today is kitty's 18th birthday!! Happy birthday, my lovely Glea!!!

Hi Nonny!!
I grew up on a farm. cats can be "disposable" in that environment. But my sissy had a kitteh named Princess that lived 19 years in that barn. One day she was gone. Ceiling Kitteh called her home.
