My aim was to get it finished so that I could put the sewing machine away and clean everything up. Because when I sew, the house is taken over. The machine is on the kitchen table. The ironing board is taking up the whole of the kitchen. Various baskets, pins, chalk, scissors, rulers, and piles of fabric cover the table, counters, and virtually every horizonal surface. The floors are covered in thread and bits of fabric. I also seem to put all other activities on hold, like shopping and cleaning and feeding the cat and laundry. And so, as I said, my aim was to get this project finished so I could clean up and have my house back.
But as soon as I finished, I tricked myself by saying, "Self, since we have the machine out, why don't we just piece together a small square of the denim quilt, just to see what it's going to look like?" And I fell for it. I just finished putting nine square together, and I LOVE IT.

Now I want to keep working on it FOREVER. But there are other things in life I need to/want to do!! Maybe I can reach a compromise with myself...

Oh, oh, oh!!! I am in love with that quilt!!
Your seat cushion and pillows are pretty, too, but, oh my, the quilt is just loverly!
It's gorgeous! My brother has a denim quilt that my Grandma made out of Grandpa's old overalls and flannel, and it's one of his most prized possessions. (It's not as pretty as yours, though.)
I like the cushions, but I LOVE the quilt! And I love that it has memories for you. It's such a creative idea.
Holy Talented, Batgirl.
LOVE the cushions. LOVE the quilt. Teach me your mad skillz, oh crafty one.
